On May 15, 2014, 2 Gharri
camel herders escaped from an attempted ambush by Degodia gunmen at Kuro 10
kilometers from Takaba. However, the Degodia gunmen shot and killed 5 camels
before they returned to Gulanni.
Also, 4 Gharri chiefs
were arrested for unknown reasons, two from Burmayo and two from Fincharo.
The Mandera and Wajir
police stations were attacked simultaneously by Degodia-Alshababa assailants
overnight. While there were no casualties or injuries reported from Mandera,
unfortunately two police officers were injured from the attack on Wajir.
