Over 20 people have been arrested. March 21, 2007 by Gur Gharri GSG News contributor Over 20 former Moyale and Udatt Districts administrators including Abdulqadir Qayanne and Mohamed Dhera were arrested, but later released on bail. In addition, several people who were accused of misusing public funds by way of contracts, without ever performing services, will be arrested. They will be arrested upon completion of interviewing witnesses and reviewing documents. Also, three other former and current Udatt district Deputy mayors Ibrahim Bitati, Aedin Malin Aliyow, and Bishar are on the run. Its believed that they may have escaped to Kenya.

 According to our reporter’s statements, 4 other people were arrested for other serious crimes unrelated to corruption. They are includes, Mahad Haji Ali, Abdi Huqa Kontoma, Hussein Aliyow Shuna, and “Shina”.

Also, one woman was killed by a lightening caused by unusually heavy rainfall, on March 19, 2007.
