Fighting between Gharri and Oromo
militia has spread like wild fire on Thursday beyond the Huddatt
District capital to the Abitu Northwest of Moyale city. The Oromo
Militia and their peasant rebels has attacked Huddatt, Amiko and Qille
and killed 10 civilians and one police officer. The Gharri militia
fought back and gained control. When it was all over, a total of 42
enemy forces were killed and many more wounded before the rest fled.
Also, as we speak, heavy fighting
has been reported at Abittu, and El Gof located Northwest of the Moyale
town.
Tensions
exploded after the Oromo region invaded Did Boji Kalaf and began
drilling. Subsequently, the Gharri defense force fought back and
repelled the enemy forces out of Boji Kalaf.
