We have noticed that the Kenyan
Media has been playing into the Degodia’s hands
whenever the Gharri people retaliate against the
Degodia thugs who kills innocent herders and
their herds.
It is a given fact that the
Ethiopian Gharri and Degodia have district
militias. These militias are no different from
the Kenyan Militias or army, because these
militias are part of the Ethiopian government as
regional state militias. However, the difference
here is that the Kenyan media has been accusing
the Gharri of Kenya or Mandera County
administrators as if Mandera County is part of
Ethiopia.
The militias that Standardmedia,
Nationmedia, Citizen Tv, Ktn and Kenyamoja are
portraying as Mandera County militia are holding
the Ethiopian Flag and chanting “Laffti Tenn
Dirre Taa Bessen Inbinne” about their region
called Dirre. Therefore, why is it that the
Media never bothered to question their Degodia
employer whose flag the militias were holding
and where the Dirre is located?
Why is it that the Mandera County
officials and elders cannot point out that the
supposed Mandera County militias portrayed by
the Kenyan Media are in fact Ethiopian and have
nothing to do with Mandera County?
Also, the Kenyan media has been
repeating that the cause of the problems in
Mandera County is because, the majority clan has
taken all the major county jobs including
governor, and senators. Why don’t they question
the Kenyan people and ask why only the Kikuyus
were elected in the Kikuyu dominated district or
counties?
The reason
is because, they achieved a majority vote and
won the elections in question. Democracy
determines who should hold public offices, and
democracy certainly doesn’t divide offices based
on tribes. Therefore, the Mandera County
officials were elected in a democratically
inclusive election that was run and supervised
by the Kenyan electorates. Instead of
congratulating the winner and moving on, the
Degodia clansmen from Wajir County waged a war
on the Mandera County and began killing innocent
people, burning houses, and interrupted commerce
between the two counties. Also, they filed a
lawsuit and they lost. Then they appealed the
outcome and also lost that appeal. Nobody was
accusing them of any wrongdoing when they
exercised their right to sue or contest the
election outcome.
However, when they run out of
options, they began illegally constructing a
road in Mandera County without the knowledge of
the Mandera County government. This lead to
conflict resulting in bloodshed. Why?
The Kenya spy agency knows that
no such militia exists in Mandera County. Also,
the Kenyan Central Intelligence Department
personnel(CID) know that no such militias exist
in Mandera County. However, they don’t say it,
because they are afraid of losing the next pay
check from the Degodia businessmen and
Politicians.
Those in charge of the media and
the politicians behind this shameful propaganda
should be held accountable for the atrocities
inflicted on innocent Gharri civilians living in
Wajir due to these lies. Also, the Wajir County
governor must be charged for inciting the
Degodia youth to commit such heinous crimes.
First of all, why did the Wajir county officials
bringing their dead militiamen from Gunana
located near the Ethiopian-Kenyan border to
Wajir town? How come they did not bury them in
Gunana or at Tarbaj town?
They wanted to publicize and
dramatize the issue, inciting their people to
revolt. Their actions have grave consequences;
the destruction and mayhem inflicted upon
defenseless women and children living in Wajir
town is by their hand. Therefore, these
politicians must be charged in a court of law
for their heinous crimes.
