Response
to the Standardmedia.co.ke Web news reports by
CYRUS OMBATi and Adow Jubat
The standardmedia web page has
become the Degodia people’s mouth piece. We have
noticed that they have been reporting
unsubstantiated and fabricated stories in order
to make the Degodia terrorists seem like the
victims after they failed to carry out the
unthinkable. This news agency did not report
when two vehicles were stopped in El Das. Its
occupants were slaughtered and their faces were
skinned in a city center. Now the Wajir County
officials are crying as if they are the victims
when they failed to deliver illegal arms to the
Degodia terrorists operating in Mandera County.
Enough is enough; the Gharri people have awaken
and are ready to defend themselves.
On “June 27, 2013,
by CYRUS OMBATI,
Wajir, Kenya:
Five more people were killed in an attack on a
village in
Wajir County in the ongoing
inter-clan conflict. Police and villagers of
Hogorale village said the deceased were all from
the Murule clan, and people believed to be from
the Gareh clan on Tuesday attacked them.”
However, there is no such killing took place at
all and they failed to correct it. Furthermore,
there is no Murale village in Wajir County,
“Sunday June 30, 2013.
By Adow Jubat;
Wajir County: a team of political and community
leaders from Wajir County came under gun ambush
in Burmayo village from suspected clan militia.”
Again, this is false and unsubstantiated pure
fiction.
The Standardmedia.co.ke web employee Adow Jubat
who is from the Degodia clan reported that a
vehicle carrying the Wajir County officials
including Senator Abdirahman Olow, governor
Ahmed Abdullahi, MP Abass Sheikh Mohamed, MP
Mohamed Ibrahim Elimi and Wajir County Woman
representative Fatuma Ibrahim was ambushed by
unknown militias at Burmayo village inTakaba
district, Mandera County. However, he did not
mention any injury or casualty nor any damages
to the said vehicle resulting from the ambush.
So, the question is that if
they really were to be ambushed as claimed here
by the above mentioned officials, then there
would be some damage to the vehicle or to the
people.
Secondly, what were the Wajir
County elected officials doing over there in
Mandera County? Were they there to deliver
illegal arms to the Degodia rebels so that they
could terrorize Gharri villagers more? Were they
there for some peace mission as some claimed? If
so, then who sent them there? It is improbable
to escape without being hit when ambushed by an
assailant. Therefore, the Wajir County
officials’ claim of being ambushed is nothing
more than fabricated fiction that is intended to
brand the Gharri people as warmongers in order
to cover up their own war mission. They went
there to supply the Degodia tribal militias with
more ammunitions and explosives like the ones
captured in Wajir a week ago. So, it is clear
that the
reasons behind their false information are to create misunderstandings
between the government, and Gharri people as
well as to create trouble between the Gharri and
Murale communities.
