The Central Gharri Region Citizen’s pray, patience, and perseverance has been answered.  January 27, 2007 by Gur Gharri GSG News contributor

The Mandera Central and Mandera West has merged and has become a full-fledged district. The name of the new district is EL Wak District. So, the Gharri people have become so excited and overwhelmed with joy, they have  began celebrating everywhere upon hearing good news. Finally, forty-three years of empty feelings, neglect, and abandonment will be a thing of the past, and soon to be forgotten. 

Also, a long serving district officer, Mr. Mohammud Malin Mohammed has been promoted to District Commissioner for Kisii South. We will let you know  the details  as new information develops
