Breaking News from Takaba, Gharri District

The Gharri community council of elders and politicians including current and ex MPs have been meeting in Takaba, in Mandera County (Central Gharri Region) since October 05, 2012.

The meeting concluded today on Oct. 22, 2012. After a very long contentious debate, infighting along cline line and negotiations, they finally reached an agreement and nominated 18 individuals to run for County Assembly positions at different county wards, for the upcoming general election.

They also, nominated and reaffirmed earlier selection nominating four MPs, including two newly created Banissa and Rhamo constituencies, two senatorial position including male and female candidates and a county governor.
