News update from Moyale, Dawa Zone.
On June 11, 2018, Oromo thugs ambushed 3 Garri herdsmen riding motorcycle between El Gof and Lahey. They killed Mr. S. M. Edin and wounded Mr. S. E. Qala, and Mr. K. B. Ibrahim. Afterwards, the perpetrators went to their base outside of Did Guchi town located Northwest of El Gof. The area security personal followed their foot prints and arrived at their base at Kukub Tutoo, killing the head of criminal gangs known as Yadesa Zalaka who have been terrorizing residents of Chamuq, El Gof and Malab locations in Moyale district, Dawa Zone. Subsequently, the Oromo low life street thugs aka “Qeero” begun vandalizing Garri owned vehicles, breaking windshield and mirrors thereby causing property damages. However, Ethiopian security forces intervened and pushed them back before they looted possessions and inflicted other property damages. It is not that long ago that the Oromo region president Mr. Lemma Magarsa and prime minister Abey Ahmed promised a lasting peace between the Oromo and Somali regional States. However, their pledges have not been materialized. In fact, more crimes have been committed against the Somali region citizens by the Oromo Police and “Qeero” (Shababa) since they pledged a lasting peace. So, why can’t these two Oromo leaders convince their fellow Oromo trained thugs? Are they just giving lip services to the Somali region and at the same time, carrying out crimes or war behind a closed door? If the latter is the case, it is beyond the pale and regrettable tactics.
