A word of peace has not only puts shackles on the Gharri elected official and council of elders in Mandera County, but also has put rein on their mouths as well. However, our brave young men have awakened to defend our ancestral land.

It has been rumored that the Gharri and Degodia have reached a peace accord in Nairobi, Kenya. However, the Degodia people have no intention of laying down their guns or honoring the so called peace. While their leaders are spewing the words of peace, their elders and business men are mobilizing militias to attack the Gharri people of Banissa and Chilako district in Southern Ethiopia.

According to reliable information received, the Degodia militias are camping at Arda Garbicha, Gorro Haddee, and Malka Bisiqa. However, the Gharri elders and politicians were already in Shackles puts on them by false words of peace, they were not even aware of the Degodia militias activities in their own backyard in Banissa District.

 I have news for you Mr. Adan Kenan and Yousuf Haji, the Gharri land does not belong to those politicians that you have been preying on for so long, it belongs to the Gharri masses. Now, the Gharri masses have awakened by the loud voices. So, let it be known that there will be no peace until Degodia militias are removed from Malka Bisiqa, Arda Garbicha and Gorro Haddee.

We are awakened to restore our good names, the names of Ali Abdi, the name of Gababa Mohad, Ali Gababa and their foot soldiers. We will fight like those before us like Hassan Gorro and Adan Qala and our land shall not be compromised.

Furthermore, despite some moron’s talking points, the Mandera County belongs not only to the Gharri of Mandera County residents, but, also to Gharri people everywhere regardless of where they may reside. Gharri people existed before, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia, and will continue to exist as one unit, one people and overall one blood.

We are awakening our brave young men ready to reclaim our ancestral land. No matter how long it may take us, no matter who took a side with whom, the fighting has begun to reoccupy Malka Bisiqa, Arda Garbicha, and Arda Haddee. Deceptive words of peace will not stop us from defending our land.  We will fight the same way we just fought and recaptured Malka Mari and we will fight the same way our forefathers such as Gababa Mohad, and Ali Abdi did. We will fight like Aliyow Gababa and Hassan Gorro.
