The Kenya Cabinet Secretary’s Statement dated
March 23, 2015 is not worth the paper it’s
printed on
The Kenyan government spokesman Mr. Joseph
Knaisser’s statement about building a wall along
Kenya-Somali border is just wishful thinking
that lacks substance. It was intended to defuse
the public outcry about the removal of the inept
district commissioner Mr. Alex Ole Nkoyo from
Mandera County. History shows that the Kenyan
government’s statement is nothing more than
empty rhetoric. It is the same as morning dew,
evaporating as soon as sun rises because by the
time it appears on the paper, it’s already been
forgotten. Therefore, promising they will build
a wall between Kenya-Somali border along
Mandera-Wajir line is a laughable statement not
worth the paper it’s printed on.
Mr. Joseph Knaisser should focus on making an
effort to work with the County governor and
members of the County Assemblies to empower the
local citizens to defend themselves and fight
against terrorists living in Mandera County.
Furthermore, the Cabinet Secretary should begin
ordering the closure of Kenya-Somali border
especially between Mandera and Bul-hawa, and
order local police officers to deport all those
Somalis now living in Mandera, because they are
a security risk.
In addition, the County government should
disallow and/or prohibit the children of Somali
terrorists from attending school in Mandera and
block off all border crossings indefinitely. By
doing so, the local police and citizens will be
able to pinpoint potential perpetrators from
indigenous citizens easily.
First of all, why are we allowing children of
terrorists to be educated in our county,
depleting our much needed County resources?
They are already not allowed in Garissa and
Wajir. Therefore, it is clear that by allowing
those children of terrorists, we are enabling
their terrorist parents to freely roam around
our County, create hideouts, and terrorize our
citizens. Therefore, enough is enough. We need
to cut off access to their education and
eliminate the hideouts for their terrorist
parents.
Finally, the Cabinet Secretary should work with
the County government officials and empower the
indigenous Manderians to defend themselves,
because the KDF has failed to do so.
