There
is very high tension between the Gharri and Borana
According to information received from Facho Gugurdo North of Ar-Addi in
the western Gharri region of Southern Ethiopia, heavily armed Borana
Oromo militias have been seen crossing into the Gharri inhabited area
and camped at Facho to raid Kojowa and Rarro villages.
A 14 years old Gharri girl was raped 5 days ago by Borana Oromo clansmen
at Facho. Also, 2 Gabra citizens were killed 3 days ago by Borana Camel
rustler in Arero district and the perpetrators got away with about 20
camels.
Four Ethiopian federal police officers were ambushed and allegedly
killed by Oromo rebels and now the Ethiopia army are said to have
surrounded nearby Borana villages, demanding villagers to identify those
responsible for the killing of the four officers. It is believed that
the villagers know who the perpetrators are and could be amongst them
because, without the help of the villagers how outsiders could be able
to enter, fight and escape?
Also, the Oromo rebel’s movements have been seen around Dhokisu and
reports indicate that they were looking for the nearest Gabra community
or villages. Later on their footprints were traced from Dhugis to a top
of Garfuto before they made a U turn toward their base near Sololo
hills.
So, we will let you know as
soon as the latest information becomes available to us
