On
June 11, 2009 Mohamed Isaaq Katelo was ambushed by Oromo gunmen and
brutally murdered at Gof Qawe near Dhakawata, Huddet District Southern
Ethiopia. He was 17 years old.
also,
on the same date, Mr. Hussein Amina's herds were looted by the Oromo
cattle rustlers and they got away with 118 herds. So far, the looted
animals have not been recovered. Furthermore, killers of a young
teenage boy and cattle rustler have not been captured or punished by
both Ethiopian government and OPDO' s administrators in the region.
The scheduled Moyale peace conference between the Gharri and Oromo
region four has been changed. According to information received from Moyale, the peace conference will be held in Soddare, near Nazirate on
June 15, 2009. About 32 elders from the Oromo , the Gharri and the Garb
communities have left today to attend the above mentioned peace
conference. But, it is unclear what triggered changes in menu from
Moyale to Soddare? So, we will let you know as new information become
available to us.
