The Western Gharri region has concluded the selection of community elders that are responsible for running all Gharri Community affairs in Ethiopia. The process of electing or nominating representatives from all 20 branches of the Gharri people began 6 months ago and concluded today on November 3, 2015 in Lehey, Moyale district. According to information received from Moyale, although some members were not able to reach an agreement on who to pick, the process of picking representatives that will serve the interests of the Gharri people was a success. The ceremonial event to officiate the selection of the new community elders will be held a month from today at Galgaloo in Mubarak District, Southern Ethiopia.
