It
has been reported that the Degodia Politicians and businessmen have
mobilized thousands of armed militias to wipeout the Gharri people from
Dirre in the Liban Zone.
According to information received, they have already waged an
unsuccessful war on the Marehan in the Liban Zone. They were defeated by
small but determined Marehan villagers. It is reported that the Degodia
lost over 30 of their fighters and many more were wounded in the fight
against the Marehan.
The latest war propaganda rhetoric began when a Marehan individual was
appointed as the mayor of a newly established district.
The Degodia claimed that the newly created district belongs to them and
only their person can be appointed as mayor. When that failed, they
retreated from fighting against the Marehan and announced that they are
going to wage an ultimate war on the Gharri people, because, they have
more chance of gaining a fertile land from fighting against the Gharri.
So, the talks of waging war have escalated and the Degodia people have
declared a full-fledged war. Also, the Degodia have made an assertion
that any degodia person who dies while fighting against the Gharri
people will automatically go to heaven because, they are fighting
against infidels or nonbelievers.
Furthermore, the Muralle, Gharri, and the Marehan elders and other
Somali peace loving community elders attempt to defuse and soften the
war rhetoric, have failed. The Degodia refused to back down from waging
war on the Gharri people. So, now, there is fear of a full-fledge war
erupting any moment.
