MANDERA COUNTY: Heavy fighting has been reported in the town of Rhamo.
According information coming from Mandera, the Degodia wing of Alshababa began shelling Rhamo town with heavy artillery machine guns and bazookas in the early morning and the fighting is still ongoing. However, there are reports of any damages to the property, injuries or casualties at this time because the local authorities have not been able to make assessment of the situation yet.
Also, on August 23, 2014, heavily armed Degodia gunmen opened fire on a passenger vehicle near Rhamo, killing one passenger and injuring three.
While all these are happening the so called “KDF” are doing nothing to protect the civilians, instead they are guarding the Al Shababa food supply stores in Rhamo Diimtu.
