Oromo fighters in court
By Adow Jubat
Security at the Moyale Law Courts was beefed up as 32 suspected Oromo Liberation Front members arrested in an ongoing military operation were arraigned in court.

Scores of regular and administration police officers were deployed in the court compound. The public was locked out of the court premises.

The suspects appeared before the Marsabit Senior Resident Magistrate Nduku Njuki at 10.30am and pleaded not guilty to charges of being members of the outlawed organisation fighting the Ethiopian government.

Seven out of nine former defectors who gave their evidence before the court identified 11 out of the 32 as former colleagues in the organisation.

Speaking through a translator, Mr Bonaya Halake Wako said he had served in the organization with the suspects.

Hearing continues.
