The Oromo people’s
Demonic Organization (O.P.D.O.) has begun
waging a land-grabbing war against the Gharri people. However, their militia
has changed their original plans and has begun looting Gharri owned
herds, goats and camel.
On April 11, 2008, Oromo fascist region militia
raided three Gharri villages at Mogoree, Dogogo, and Dhipu Baņa. They
looted herds and camels, but the Gharri militia intercepted and
recovered all the looted animals. However, no casualties have been
reported from either side.
Also, on April 12, 2008, Oromo looters raided
another Gharri village at Kojowa and looted hundreds of herds, goats,
donkeys and abducted five herders.
On April 13, 2008, small but determined Gharri
militia intercepted the Oromo looters at Dhaka Wata before they reach
nearby villages, and chased them out . So, the Gharri Defense Force are
pursuing the Oromo fascist region’s criminals, but there’s no new
information available in regard to the outcome of the chase.
According to information received from Moyale, the
Oromo region administrators lied to the Ethiopians by reporting that
Alqaida has infiltrated Gharri land and they are willing to clean them
out if the government allows them to do so. Subsequently, the government
okayed the deal by allowing the Oromos to use 400 of their militias that
were trained to fight against O.L. F. under the false pretext of
removing alqaida from the Gharri land. What the Ethiopian government’s
agents forgot was that the Gharri region has been one of the few
peaceful regions in Ethiopia since 1992.
However, the Oromo region president’s plan was not
to fight against alqaida, but to fulfill the promises he made during the
2005 general election to grab land for the Oromo people from smaller
ethnic groups neighboring the Oromos.
Therefore the Gharri land is one of the strategic
lands that they are eyeing to grab. But, our reporter said that he is
mistaken; the Gharri people are ready to defend themselves against any
intruders regardless of what name or pretext that the Oromo leader is
planning to use. This is a man who is intoxicated with land grabbing
ideas and has become an anti peace war monger but, his dreams will be
crushed and defeated. They are fighting against the Galabas or Konso, in
Tertale, against Gurra, and Karrales, and now against the Gharri people.
